Faculty Equity and Inclusion Committee (FEIC) Diversity Grant Guidelines
As a standing committee of the Faculty Assembly, each fiscal year FEIC allocates funds for research and campus activities that promote diversity and inclusiveness. We invite proposals addressing all areas of diversity and inclusion (e.g., disability, LGBTQ+, socio-economic status, gender). In alignment with FEIC’s mission, priority consideration will be given to projects that focus on racial and ethnic equity in research, teaching, and community engagement. Funding is open to all UCCS faculty and staff. FEIC funds a variety of proposals including, but not limited to, travel for research purposes such as conference presentations or access to archives; support for research assistance (for instance, transcription of interviews); minor equipment purchases; creating or supporting on-going programs; bringing speakers to campus; organizing one-time events or workshops; and developing new or enhancing teaching activities.
The individual applicant is responsible for completing ALL necessary paperwork related to the activity, event, or program. FEIC support resulting from the proposal, if granted, is strictly financial unless otherwise agreed upon. Funds will be forfeited if the applicant does not effectively follow university and FEIC protocol regarding their event. Finally, if funds are awarded FEIC should be acknowledged as a sponsor.

Terms
All UCCS faculty (tenured, tenure-track, and non-tenure track) and staff are eligible to receive FEIC grants
Standard grants will be between $250 and $500 depending on need and number of grants awarded.
Calls for proposals will be circulated twice a year. Proposals must be submitted by the deadline stated in the call for consideration.
FEIC chair or co-chair(s) will notify status of funding to the proposer via email after the FEIC meeting.
All submitted proposals will be evaluated during a FEIC meeting. Committee members will make decisions on proposals according to objective criteria (see FEIC Grant Rubric); proposals might not receive the full amount requested.
Proposers will be asked to step out if attending a meeting in which their proposal is evaluated.
Each awardee is responsible for creating a new speedtype for FEIC grants. Funds must be moved into the speed-type and spent by the end of the fiscal year (June 30) that a grant is awarded or forfeit the funds.
Each applicant is limited to one funded proposal per academic year.
Priority will be given to those applicants who have not been funded previously.
Once a grant is awarded, any changes or substitutions of speakers, lecturers, project scope, etc. listed in the application must be submitted in writing to FEIC. FEIC reserves the right to approve the changes, or in the alternative, reduce the amount or revoke the grant award.
